About me
I’ve spent my life studying and practicing leadership — not just in theory, but in the field.
I was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, to a family of artists, philosophers, and leaders — not necessarily by title or position, but by disposition and approach to life. From an early age, I was drawn to the deeper questions of what makes a person worth following, how teams grow and thrive, and how great leadership can change lives.
That curiosity led me to a 19-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, where I served in a range of leadership roles — from commanding tanks in combat, to shaping national recruitment campaigns, to advising on digital transformation initiatives. These experiences tested and refined my leadership philosophy in high-stakes environments, teaching me again and again that strong leadership starts with strong self-leadership.
After leaving the military, I followed a creative instinct and spent a year immersed in the art of furniture making. Working with wood surprised me — not just in its challenge, but in how deeply it resonated with the lessons I’d learned about leadership: each person, like each piece of wood, is unique. And each must be approached with attention, patience, and respect. Wood, like people, must be worked with - not against.
Next, I stepped into the tech world as COO of a cybersecurity startup. There, leadership meant adaptation, humility, and finding clarity in uncertainty. These lessons, too, sharpened my philosophy.
Today, I coach and support leaders who are ready to do the deep work — leaders who want to lead with more clarity, confidence, and courage. Leaders who are ambitious not just in what they want to build, but in who they want to become.
My approach
I always begin with a free discovery call — a chance to get to know one another, clarify your goals, and decide if we’re a good fit. After that, I’ll share a tailored summary and offer a few options to work together, based on your goals and your needs.
There’s no one-size-fits-all. Some clients need just a few sessions to regain clarity or tackle specific challenges. Others are looking for long-term support as they deepen their leadership skills over months or even years. Some prefer regular check-ins. Others prefer to reach out when the moment calls for it. We’ll work in whatever format works best for you — virtually or in person, frequently or occasionally.
No matter the shape of our work, my focus is always the same: to help you clear away the noise, connect with what matters most, and make better decisions as a leader. We start by addressing the low-hanging fruit — the small shifts that create immediate clarity and momentum. From there, we go deeper: into habits, mindsets, values, and personal philosophy.
Clients often tell me they sleep better, think more clearly, and feel more present and calm — not because the work gets easier, but because they’ve grown more capable of handling it. As one client put it: “I finally feel like myself again — and my team feels it too.”
My philosophy
I believe leadership is the most powerful force for good in the world — and that world-class leadership begins with self-leadership.
But modern life makes this hard. We’re pulled in a thousand directions. Always on. Always performing. We multitask through meetings, check emails in bed, and take business calls on vacation. The result? We lose touch with what makes us most human — our values, our clarity, our creativity, our unique way of leading.
When we’re disconnected from ourselves, we can’t connect well with others. And that disconnect shows up everywhere — in poor decisions, low trust, disengaged teams, and in leaders who feel stuck or burnt out.
But leadership is a skill. Like any serious skill, it can be learned, practiced, and mastered — and it’s best developed with a coach. Someone who helps you notice blind spots, think more clearly, and become the leader only you can be.
I believe every leader is a coach, a student, and a friend. And I believe the world needs more world-class leaders — people who are clear on their purpose, grounded in their values, and courageous enough to lead with both strength and humility.
If you’re ready to become that kind of leader, I’m ready to walk the path with you.
